Can I show a video to my class?

Help! I just need a video to to pass some time on a rainy day break or while my kids are waiting for something. How can I find something quickly?

Answer

Here is a link to a Kanopy playlist of family friendly movies to enable you to find them quickly.

The Australian Children's Television Foundation also has episodes from TV shows that are suitable.

The school has an umbrella licence to show movies in school. This DOES NOT permit you to show content using your personal streaming subscriptions. A small range of DVDs is available for borrowing from the library. You can show legal DVDs. Players can be borrowed from the IT Department.

For more information about Kanopy, including how to access it from home and school visit this link.

Please remember that having a personal subscription to Netflix or Apple TV does not mean it is okay to use in a classroom, or any other public space. The subscriptions specifically state that they are for personal use only. Playing in a classroom or anywhere in a school is not personal use.

Kanopy is a video streaming service that the college subscribes to. Kanopy offers one of the most unique and compelling collections of film on the planet. Their films range from documentaries, indie and foreign films, must-see classics and blockbuster movies.

Kanopy contains some adult content. Please supervise children's reading and viewing at all times
